Desertscapes, a Celebration of Early Desert Artists in Palm Desert

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

April, 2010, will be a busy month for fans of desert art. The City of Palm Desert is joining with organizations Valleywide (including the Palm Springs Art Museum, the Living Desert and Edenhurst Gallery) to present Desertscapes, a monthlong celebration of the early desert artists and contemporary artists who are continuing the tradition. There is talk of making Desertscapes an annual event, a move that will put Palm Desert on the map as a destination for lovers of California art.

Events will include paint-outs, exhibits, demonstrations, talks by leading art experts, and a bus tour of collectors’ homes slated for April 24th. For information on the bus tour, contact the Historical Society of Palm Desert. (760) 346-6588.
